Munich -- September 01, 2026 -- Huawei used the European Society of Cardiology Congress in Munich on August 31, 2026, to give attendees an early look at the HUAWEI WATCH D3, its next wrist-worn ambulatory blood pressure monitor. The device will officially launch at the Huawei Innovative Product Launch in Munich on September 2. Huawei has sold wearable blood pressure monitors since 2021, when its first WATCH D received medical device certification in China and the European Union.
Decade of Testing Leads to a Third Generation
Huawei entered the sports and health tracking business in 2014, adding dynamic heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen tracking and ECG collection over the following years before building blood pressure measurement into its watches. The HUAWEI WATCH D, released in 2021, became the company's first wrist-based ambulatory blood pressure recorder and won medical device certification in multiple markets, including China and the EU. Huawei followed with the WATCH D2 in 2024, which added 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
New Watch Tracks Blood Pressure During and After Workouts
The WATCH D3 records blood pressure accurately even when a wearer's heart rate rises during exercise, capturing readings before and after workouts and offering recommendations on appropriate exercise intensity based on that data. The watch has received CE MDR certification in the European Union covering single blood pressure measurements, 24-hour ambulatory monitoring, and pre- and post-exercise readings. Huawei also built in blood pressure measurement reminders for high-altitude environments and sudden temperature swings, alerting wearers when conditions call for a check.
Slimmer Case Comes in Three Nature-Inspired Colors
Huawei trimmed the device's thickness and lightened its strap for more comfortable all-day wear, and the WATCH D3 will ship in three colors the company described as inspired by "nature's healing." Huawei said the watch works as an everyday accessory that fits both sports and casual settings.
Beyond blood pressure, the WATCH D3 expands Health Glance metrics and adds continued improvements to sleep and emotional wellbeing tracking. Huawei noted that this data is for reference only and should not be used for diagnosis or treatment.
Huawei did not confirm pricing or a release date for the WATCH D3 during the ESC Congress preview, saying further details would follow ahead of the September 2 launch event in Munich.
