Capacity Sports Group Bolsters Executive Team, Names Mike Kenney Chief Revenue Officer

Former Ripken Baseball CEO joins a growing leadership team supporting Capacity's expansion across youth sports, events and destinations

INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Capacity Sports Group, a leading youth sports company that brings together proven operators, established event brands and sports destinations, today announced the appointment of Mike Kenney as chief revenue officer. The former CEO of Ripken Baseball brings decades of experience growing sports businesses, developing programming and building commercial partnerships as Capacity expands across sports and markets.

Kenney's appointment follows several additions to Capacity's team since the spring, including chief operating officer Dan LeBlanc, senior vice president of M&A Surry Wood, Chief of Staff Kristen Ajamie and Director of Corporate Development John Vardzel. They join an established leadership team that includes President Blake Hibler.

"We're building Capacity Sports Group to become the leading platform in youth sports, and that starts with exceptional operators who know how to deliver for athletes and families," said Ken Kocher, CEO of Capacity Sports Group. "Mike brings a proven track record of growing sports businesses, building brands and developing valuable partnerships. He joins leaders who have spent more than 20 years building and running the businesses now part of Capacity."

As chief revenue officer, Kenney will help advance Capacity's revenue strategy, working with its businesses to develop commercial partnerships and opportunities for growth across events, facilities and programming.

Kenney served as CEO of Ripken Baseball from 2019 to 2024, overseeing strategic initiatives, facility improvements, marketing and programming. During his tenure, the company launched Ripken Select and All-Ripken Games and secured a seven-figure partnership with a global athletic apparel company. Previously, Kenney spent more than a decade with the Harlem Globetrotters as executive vice president. He helped double domestic tour revenue over that period, secured the largest revenue partnership in the company's history and led marketing, public relations and audience development initiatives. His earlier career included roles with Comcast Spectacor.

"What drew me to Capacity was the experience throughout the company and the opportunity to build something together," said Kenney. "These businesses have earned the trust of athletes, coaches and families over many years. We can help them reach more teams, develop new programming and create partnerships that make their events and facilities even stronger. I'm excited to get to work alongside the people who know those businesses best."

Capacity was introduced in January 2026 following the merger of Prep Baseball and Bullpen Ventures, connecting scouting, showcases, media and player development with tournament programming and venue operations. Its approach combines the relationships and expertise of established sports businesses with resources they can share across the company.

Since its launch, Capacity has added Play9 Sports, United Sports, YSC Sports, Sideline Soccer Solutions, Flag Football Life, West Chester Flag Football, BNA Athletes and Ryze Hoops, expanding its network of multisport facilities and programming across baseball, softball, soccer, flag football, lacrosse and basketball.

The company also recently expanded its multisport operations at LakePoint Sports near Atlanta, building on Prep Baseball's tournament presence there since 2019. The addition of Publix Fields and operations at the 170,000-square-foot Champions Center Indoor Pavilion creates opportunities to bring more sports and events to the nationally recognized destination.

Capacity's strategic focus spans baseball, softball, soccer, lacrosse, volleyball and flag football. As its network grows, the company aims to preserve the identities and relationships that distinguish its businesses while supporting shared expectations for quality, safety and accountability.
