Abilene, Texas – October 06, 2026 -- Natura Resources has appointed Christopher Abundis as executive vice president and chief financial officer as the molten salt reactor developer advances commercialization of its technology.
Abundis previously helped guide SilverBow Resources through a $2.1 billion sale
Abundis joins from SilverBow Resources, where he served as executive vice president, chief financial officer and general counsel. He played a key role in SilverBow's sale to KKR and Crescent Energy, a transaction valued at approximately $2.1 billion, and helped lead the company's New York Stock Exchange listing. Over his 20-year career, he participated in debt and equity financings totaling billions of dollars.
Natura holds the first NRC construction permit for a liquid-fueled reactor
Natura Resources has secured more than $120 million in private funding alongside a $120 million commitment from the State of Texas. The company's reactors are liquid-fueled and molten salt-cooled, a design intended to enhance safety and reduce waste compared with conventional systems.
New CFO will oversee capital structure and project financing for reactor deployment
In his new role, Abundis will manage Natura's financial strategy, capital structure, liquidity planning, and accounting functions. He will work with the executive team and board on capital formation and project financing tied to deployment of the company's reactor technologies.
"What attracted me to Natura is that this isn't just a vision on paper. We're building a real reactor," Abundis said.
Abundis holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science in accounting from Texas A&M University and a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law.
