Aviat Signs License-to-Manufacture Deal with Dixon for India Microwave Market

Austin, Texas – October 05, 2026 -- Aviat Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVNW) has signed a license-to-manufacture agreement with Dixon Electro Appliances Private Ltd. to produce designated products from its WTM 4000 microwave radio family in India, targeting a market Aviat estimates at roughly 250,000 links over the next four years.

Dixon will manufacture and sell approved WTM 4000 products to select Indian telecom operators

Under the deal, Dixon handles local manufacturing and sales to designated operators, while Aviat retains intellectual property ownership and continues supplying software and services. The arrangement departs from a traditional contract manufacturing structure, allowing Aviat to scale output in India without taking on direct production constraints.

Local production cuts import delays and strengthens supply chain for Indian carriers

Radios built under the agreement will carry a "Made in India" designation, backed by a domestic supply chain that reduces exposure to international shipping complexity and import delays. The deal builds on Aviat's existing footprint in the country, which already includes R&D, repair-and-return operations, and logistics and deployment services.

Aviat CEO frames India as a top growth market for microwave infrastructure

Pete Smith, President and CEO of Aviat Networks, said India represents one of the largest growth opportunities in the global microwave market, and the licensing model lets Aviat concentrate resources on innovation, software, services and customer relationships rather than direct manufacturing.

Company expects a more capital-efficient growth structure for shareholders

Aviat said the license-to-manufacture structure gives it a scalable platform to pursue the Indian opportunity while generating what it describes as a higher-quality, more capital-efficient growth profile for shareholders.
