Los Angeles – October 05, 2026 -- THIS IS CRAZY!, a benefit play exploring mental illness and family survival, arrives at The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills for a single performance on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, with tickets on sale now.
The show previously debuted in New York, drawing talent including Jane Fonda, Edie Falco, and Mark Ruffalo, and raised nearly $500,000 for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). One hundred percent of proceeds from the Los Angeles performance and afterparty will again go to NAMI.
The Los Angeles cast features Marisa Tomei and Rosanna Arquette.
The ensemble also includes Lois Smith, Rudy Pankow, Rob Morrow, Rachel Hilson, Colette Hayes, Luke Ferrari, and Olivia Oguma, with additional names still to be announced.
Tony and Obie Award-winning playwright V wrote and directs the production.
V, formerly known as Eve Ensler and creator of The Vagina Monologues, built the show around original monologues examining mental illness, family, and survival.
The project honors the late talent manager Chris Huvane.
THIS IS CRAZY! was developed by CAA Community & Impact, the philanthropic arm of Creative Artists Agency, in Huvane's memory. It is produced by his sister, Ruth-Ann Huvane, a NAMI National Board Member, alongside Tony Montenieri of Lotus Productions. Huvane struggled with depression before dying by suicide, according to Ruth-Ann Huvane, who said her family is committed to supporting NAMI's mission in his honor.
NAMI's CEO says the play helps reduce stigma around mental illness.
NAMI CEO Daniel H. Gillison, Jr. said storytelling can open conversations and help people feel less alone, adding that proceeds from the performance will help the organization continue connecting families with support and resources.
NAMI Westside Los Angeles CEO Erin Raftery Ryan said her office responds to thousands of requests each year, providing free referral, information, and support services to Angelenos affected by mental health conditions.
