Guangzhou, China – October 05, 2026 -- GAC Group exported 197,701 own-brand vehicles between January and September 2026, up 138.9% year-on-year and equal to 156.7% of the company's full-year 2025 export total. September exports alone reached 25,693 units, up 160.9% year-on-year, marking the ninth consecutive month in which GAC's overseas shipments more than doubled. The automaker is now tracking toward an annual export target of 300,000 units.
Southeast Asia drives Asia-Pacific growth as GAC shifts from exports to local manufacturing
Southeast Asian sales climbed 32% year-on-year in September, led by Laos at 433%, the Philippines at 301% and Indonesia at 79%. GAC's Cambodia KD plant launched on September 17, moving the company from complete-vehicle exports to local assembly in the market. In Hong Kong, the E9 PHEV retook the No. 1 spot in MPV sales in August, while GAC was named the 2026 Philippine Automotive Industry Breakthrough Brand. Myanmar's First Vice President Nyo Saw visited GAC on September 20, and the GN8 served as the official vehicle for the APEC SME Ministerial Meeting and the 2026 Fortune Global 500 Forum.
UK sales jump 392% as AION UT secures five-star Euro NCAP rating
European markets posted sharp monthly gains in September, with the UK up 392%, Greece up 102% and Switzerland up 650% month-on-month. The AION UT and AION V ranked third in Greece's battery-electric vehicle segment in August. The AION UT received a 2026 Euro NCAP five-star safety rating and won the 2026 TADA Turin Automotive Design Award for Best Exterior Design, and launched in the UK, Denmark, Norway and France during the month. GAC also became the official automotive partner of La Liga club Villarreal.
Brazil sales surge 280% as GAC expands hybrid and PHEV lineup in South America
Terminal sales across the Americas rose 111% year-on-year in September, with Brazil up 280%, Colombia up 337% and Ecuador up 137%. GAC ranked third in all-brand sales in Uruguay in August, where the AION V won the compact SUV sales title for a second consecutive month; the GS4 MAX HEV and S7 ULTRA AWD PHEV launched in the market during the period. GAC also delivered 100 AION UT units in Chile.
African sales climb 560% as GAC launches new models in Dubai and Casablanca
African sales rose 560% year-on-year in September, with Libya up 41% and Côte d'Ivoire up 84%, while CIS sales increased 176%, led by Azerbaijan at 191%. GAC launched the GS7 PHEV in Dubai on September 12, followed by the GN8 PHEV, HYPTEC HT and HYPTEC SSR in Casablanca, Morocco, on September 24.
