Talkiatry Earns Joint Commission Gold Seal for Behavioral Health

New York – October 05, 2026 -- Talkiatry, the largest psychiatric provider group in the U.S., has received The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® for Behavioral Health, covering care delivered to more than 170 million lives nationwide.

Accreditation follows four million patient visits and rapid national expansion

The accreditation arrives shortly after Talkiatry surpassed four million patient visits and serves as the preferred in-network psychiatry partner for more than 70 U.S. health systems. To earn the designation, the company underwent a comprehensive review of its operations, patient care delivery, and privacy and security practices, followed by on-site surveyor observations and interviews.

Standard 60-minute intakes anchor Talkiatry's clinical model

Dr. Georgia Gaveras, DO, co-founder and Chief Medical Officer, said the accreditation validates the company's clinical infrastructure. She noted that Talkiatry's standard patient intake runs 60 minutes, compared with the 15-minute intakes common elsewhere, giving clinicians more time to assess patient needs.

Accreditation addresses oversight gaps in virtual behavioral health

As demand for behavioral healthcare continues to outpace access, more providers have shifted to virtual and hybrid care models, leaving patients, providers, and payers with fewer independent benchmarks to evaluate quality and safety. Joint Commission accreditation gives Talkiatry a verifiable standard aligned with traditional brick-and-mortar healthcare institutions.

Milestone caps a year of financial and partnership growth

The accreditation follows Talkiatry's strategic partnership with AMGA (American Medical Group Association) to expand in-network psychiatric access nationally, and a $210 million Series D funding round completed earlier this year. Talkiatry employs more than 800 full-time psychiatrists, making it the largest private employer of psychiatrists in the country.

Ken Grubbs, DNP, MBA, RN, executive vice president of Accreditation and Certification Operations and chief nursing officer at The Joint Commission, said the review process affirmed Talkiatry's adherence to quality and patient safety standards.
