GoNoodle Teaches Kids 'Thinglish' Ahead of Cat in the Hat Movie

Atlanta – October 05, 2026 -- GoNoodle, the movement platform used in 88% of U.S. public and private elementary schools, has launched a new video and nationwide contest tied to Warner Bros. Pictures Animation's The Cat in the Hat, which hits theaters November 6.

A new video teaches kids the movie's invented movement language

The video, titled Let's Speak Thinglish!, teaches children the wordless body-percussion language used by the Things in the film. Created with the movie's choreographer, Christopher Scott, the lesson walks kids through Thinglish terms for "hello," "goodbye," "yes," and "no," then has them invent their own Thinglish names. The video is available on the Dr. Seuss channel on GoNoodle.com alongside the platform's existing library of Dr. Seuss content.

A nationwide contest offers free movie tickets for the most active classrooms and families

Running October 5 through November 1, the Minutes of Movement contest counts every minute of GoNoodle watched as one minute of movement. The winning classroom will receive four movie tickets for every student plus the teacher, letting the whole class see the film together. The families logging the most movement minutes will also win ticket packs. Winners will be announced November 4, two days before the film opens.

Executives frame the campaign as a way to extend classroom learning into family time

"Kids have a special connection to The Cat in the Hat, and it was pure joy to bring that spirit to GoNoodle," said Eric Covert, GoNoodle's Chief Creative Officer, adding that the goal is getting kids "moving, laughing and learning together." GoNoodle's Chief Marketing Officer, Sarah Halloran, said the contest gives teachers "a ready-made brain break" while families get "a reason to move together at home."

The Cat in the Hat marks Warner Bros. Pictures Animation's first full-length feature film and will release in theaters and IMAX across North America.
