Basware Completes Acquisition of Fraud Prevention Firm Trustpair

Paris – October 05, 2026 -- Basware, the global leader in Invoice Lifecycle Management, has completed its acquisition of payment fraud prevention platform Trustpair, finalizing a deal first announced in August 2026.

Basware extends invoice oversight to the point of payment

The acquisition closes a gap in enterprise finance controls: an invoice can be authentic, accurate and fully approved, yet still result in a fraudulent payment if the associated supplier bank account is compromised. Basware's platform validates that an invoice obligation is legitimate and compliant; Trustpair now adds verification that the supplier is genuine, the bank account matches that supplier, and funds reach the intended destination.

Trustpair will operate independently, preserving its vendor-agnostic model

Trustpair will retain its existing platform, specialist focus, customer contracts and support structure. The company will continue expanding integrations across ERP, treasury, procure-to-pay and payment systems, and customers can deploy Trustpair regardless of whether they use Basware.

Combined data spans 2.5 billion invoices and 20 million suppliers

Basware serves more than 6,500 customers globally, including DHL, Heineken and NBC Universal Media, and the companies plan to combine this invoice and supplier context with Trustpair's fraud-specific intelligence to identify risk earlier and automate validation. Trustpair currently secures payments for over 600 organizations, including Fortune 500 companies, and holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications.

Executives cite rising AI-driven payment fraud as the catalyst

Basware CEO Jason Kurtz said customers have described the payment assurance layer as "the missing piece they have been waiting for" since the August announcement. Trustpair Co-founder and CEO Baptiste Collot said sophisticated, AI-enabled payment threats require fraud prevention to function as an active, connected layer across the full invoice-to-payment lifecycle, noting that Trustpair will tap into Basware's scale and data foundation while building on its nine-year track record in payment assurance.
