Hsinchu – October 05, 2026 -- MediaTek and Airoha Technology, together operating as the MediaTek Group, will showcase next-generation Wi-Fi, 5G CPE and PON platforms at Network X 2026, running October 13-15 at Messe Wien in Vienna, Austria. The companies will present their combined connectivity portfolio at Booth K35, targeting telecom operators seeking to upgrade network infrastructure for AI-driven bandwidth and latency demands.
MediaTek Group combines PON, 5G CPE and Wi-Fi under one supplier
By merging MediaTek's and Airoha's technology stacks, the group now offers operators a single partner spanning network access, customer-premises equipment, and in-home and enterprise connectivity. This consolidation is designed to reduce system integration complexity for operators managing multiple connectivity layers simultaneously.
Platforms support three parallel network migrations
The showcased technologies cover the shift from Wi-Fi 7 to Wi-Fi 8, from XGS-PON to 50G-PON, and from 5G to 5G-Advanced. MediaTek Group positions these transitions as interconnected rather than isolated upgrades, arguing that fiber access, mobile broadband and Wi-Fi must work together to deliver a consistent end-to-end experience as AI workloads move from data centers into homes, offices and mobile devices.
Software ecosystem compatibility targets deployment speed
The platforms support major broadband software ecosystems including OpenWrt, RDK-B and prplOS, aimed at easing multi-vendor interoperability and accelerating service rollout for operators. MediaTek Group states its products are validated through mass production of billions of devices deployed globally each year, with engineering support spanning product definition, silicon development, software integration and lifecycle management.
Manufacturing ties aim to secure supply chain reliability
MediaTek Group says its position within leading semiconductor manufacturing ecosystems, working directly with advanced-process foundry partners, is intended to give operators continuous technology upgrades alongside a stable supply chain as they scale next-generation network deployments.
