Skanska Wins $110M Contract for Renton High School in Washington

Stockholm – October 05, 2026 -- Skanska has signed a contract worth USD 110 million, about SEK 1.0 billion, with the Renton School District to build a new high school in Renton, Washington, USA. The contract value will be booked into Skanska's US order bookings for the third quarter of 2026.

New campus to house 1,600 students across 32,500 square meters

The three-story, 350,000-square-foot comprehensive high school will provide classroom capacity for 1,600 students. The facility will include core classrooms alongside dedicated spaces for Career and Technical Education, art, science and elective courses.

Campus design adds health services, athletic fields and community spaces

Beyond academic areas, the new Renton High School will feature health and special services spaces, community areas, a library, cafeteria, commons and gymnasiums. Outdoor facilities will include a lighted baseball/softball field and a practice football/soccer field.

Construction underway with completion targeted for Fall 2029

Work on the project has already begun, with Skanska targeting completion in Fall 2029.
