First Graphene, Aeropreg Ink 3-Year Carbon Fibre Prepreg Deal
First Graphene, Aeropreg Ink 3-Year Carbon Fibre Prepreg Deal

Sydney – October 04, 2026 -- First Graphene Limited has signed a three-year Development and Commercialisation Agreement with Turkish prepreg manufacturer Aeropreg to bring a graphene-enhanced carbon fibre prepreg to market, targeting aerospace, defence, automotive and marine applications.

Agreement pairs PureGRAPH additives with Aeropreg's resin and manufacturing base

Under the deal, First Graphene's proprietary epoxy concentrates will be used to integrate its PureGRAPH graphene into Aeropreg's existing carbon fibre prepreg production lines. The development program will first establish controlled, repeatable graphene loading levels before validating strength, durability and manufacturability of the resulting composite material.

Commercial rollout to leverage Aeropreg's aerospace-certified supply chain

Subject to trial outcomes, the two companies plan to advance the material toward commercial launch through Aeropreg's established sales channels across aerospace, automotive, marine and sporting goods sectors. Aeropreg, a subsidiary of Spinteks, operates prepreg production under AS9100 aerospace quality certification; Spinteks was added to the Turkish Aerospace (TUSAŞ) Approved Supplier List for composite manufacturing in June 2026.

Deal extends First Graphene's push into North American composites market

The Aeropreg tie-up follows First Graphene's recent acquisition of MITO Materials, which expanded its composites technology base and customer relationships in North America. The company has reported prior positive results from customer development programs and grant-funded research on graphene-enhanced carbon fibre composites, which this agreement is intended to convert into a commercial manufacturing route.

Target market for carbon fibre reinforced plastics set to hit $43.7 billion by 2033

First Graphene frames the partnership as a pathway into the global carbon fibre reinforced plastics market, projected to reach US$43.7 billion by 2033. Modern commercial aircraft rely extensively on carbon fibre prepreg for primary airframe structures, a segment First Graphene is targeting alongside defence and automotive applications.

First Graphene Managing Director and CEO Michael Bell said the partnership combines the company's composite-material expertise with an established manufacturer capable of producing and commercializing the product, with near-term work focused on validating the material within Aeropreg's manufacturing process.
