Tomato Products Wellness Council Reinvents Quality Standard with Launch of New Campaign
Image File
Original HTML

Tomato Wellness, a nonprofit voluntary association dedicated to promoting the health, exceptional taste and quality of the U.S. tomato products industry, created Field to Sealed for processors, i.e. pizza shop owners, restaurateurs, wholesalers and other foodservice professionals who care about the ingredients behind the food they serve.

The Field to Sealed emblem highlights the existing quality of tomatoes grown right here by family farmers. Farmers grow tomatoes to high standards and harvest the crop at peak ripeness before processors quickly can or jar the tomatoes, preserving the flavor, color and quality that professional kitchens rely on year-round.

"Chefs and restaurant operators take pride in the ingredients they serve and want to know where food comes from and who grows it," said Alec Wasson, Director of Tomato Wellness. "Field to Sealed celebrates that connection and gives operators a way to share the story from the farmers who grow the tomatoes to the kitchens that serve them."

Research from Tomato Wellness reinforces the qualities foodservice operators prioritize when selecting tomato products. Nearly nine in 10 consider shelf life (89%), suitability for recipes (88%), flavor intensity (87%) and natural colors and flavors (86%) important.

Canned and jarred tomatoes deliver on those priorities by capturing tomatoes at the moment of ripeness and sealing in peak-season flavor for year-round use. The process helps restaurants maintain consistent flavor, color and performance across recipes, while longer shelf life can help operators manage inventory and reduce food waste.

Field to Sealed brings that story to the pizza industry this month at Pizza Expo Columbus 2026 in Columbus, Ohio. Attendees are invited to visit Booth 202 to learn more about the campaign and share what taking pride in ingredients means to them.

The launch brings Field to Sealed beyond the product label through a pizza box promotional kit featuring campaign messaging and branding. Printable materials designed for table tents, menus and other point-of-sale applications give restaurants additional ways to showcase the emblem and share the story and quality behind the tomatoes they are committed to serving.

Beta Bionics (NASDAQ: BBNX) Faces Securities Fraud Class Action Amid iLet FDA Compliance
Image File
Original HTML

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Beta Bionics, Inc. (NASDAQ: BBNX) faces a securities class action, which seeks to represent investors who purchased or otherwise acquired shares of the company's common stock between July 30, 2025 and February 24, 2026.

The lawsuit follows a series of surprise revelations about the FDA's concerns over company's automated insulin delivery system ("iLet"), each of which sent the price of Beta Bionics shares sharply lower.

National shareholders rights firm Hagens Berman is investigating claims that Beta Bionics violated the federal securities laws and encourages Beta Bionics investors who suffered substantial losses to submit your losses now.

Class Period: July 30, 2025 – Feb. 24, 2026

Lead Plaintiff Deadline: Nov. 3, 2026

Visit: www.hbsslaw.com/bbnx

Video: https://youtu.be/3mOFOZUJdAc

Beta Bionics (BBNX) Securities Class Action:

During the Class Period, the company and its management heavily promoted its iLet medical device as demanding "the least engagement from the user" and delivering "the most automated adaptation of any" automated insulin delivery system. Beta Bionics also assured investors that healthcare professionals "are seeing good results from their patients and becoming more comfortable prescribing the iLet[.]"

On October 28, 2025, Beta Bionics' management discussed their receipt of a Form 483 from the FDA after its inspection of Beta Bionics' iLet manufacturing, they called the 483 "primarily related to our customer complaint handling system," downplayed the inspection as "not unusual in our industry," and said "[w]e're confident that our new complaint handling system and reporting system meets or exceeds the expectations laid out by the agency in their Form 483 observations." CEO Sean Saint emphasized "[t]he 483 itself had nothing to do with the actual complaints being received[….] It had to do solely with the definition the reports being filed as complaints, and that's all."

The complaint alleges these and other statements misled investors because, unknown to them, Beta Bionics concealed its receipt of thousands of iLet safety complaints, including numerous life-threatening hypoglycemic events, and failed to investigate or report the events to the FDA as it was required to do.

By February 24, 2026, when the FDA published its January 28, 2026 WARNING LETTER to CEO Saint, investors learned the truth. The FDA, citing its inspection, was brutal:

- "Your firm failed to adequately analyze quality data, such as complaints, to identify existing and potential causes of nonconforming product or other quality problems[;]"

- "Your firm failed to implement corrective and preventative actions […] for complaints related to device malfunctions that led to serious adverse health outcomes[;]" and

- "Significant violations include […] [f]ailure to report to the FDA information […] no later than 30 calendar days after the day that your firm received or otherwise became aware of information, from any source, that reasonably suggests that a device that it markets may have caused or contributed to a death or serious injury[.]"

"We're focused on whether Beta Bionics may have intentionally misled investors by placing revenues ahead of patient safety," said Reed Kathrein, the Hagens Berman partner leading the firm's investigation.

If you invested in Beta Bionics and have substantial losses, or have knowledge that will assist the firm's investigation, submit your losses now »

Whistleblowers: Persons with non-public information regarding Beta Bionics should consider their options to help in the investigation or take advantage of the SEC Whistleblower program. Under the new program, whistleblowers who provide original information may receive rewards totaling up to 30 percent of any successful recovery made by the SEC.

ugee maker Launches: A Curated, AI-Powered, Kid-Friendly 3D Printing Community for Families and 3D Printing Beginners

HONG KONG, Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The consumer 3D printing industry has developed rapidly, placing high-speed, reliable desktop manufacturing hardware into hundreds of thousands of homes. Hardware has become faster and more affordable. However, the community ecosystem still leaves beginners stranded. Today's households face a frustrating dilemma: technical communities that lack safety and guidance for young beginners, or family-friendly platforms accessible only by buying a specific brand's hardware.

ugee maker introduces a third, easy-to-use, family-friendly option designed for parents, kids, and beginners. This community provides a collaborative space for shared creativity and discovery—allowing parents to explore curated, high-quality models and guide their kids through hands-on design, while giving newcomers a seamless, barrier-free entry into the world of 3D printing.

Curated & Print-Ready: A 3D Model Library You Can Trust

For novice makers, failed prints stemming from faulty 3D files are often the single biggest source of frustration. ugee maker eliminates this hurdle with a meticulously curated model library. Every official ugee file is professionally pre-tested and validated to ensure smooth, reliable printing across virtually all consumer-grade 3D printers. The library is built on three pillars: Seed Builds, where officially tuned and validated models serve as the foundation for hassle-free printing; User Model Uploads, encouraging the community to share original creations; and Artist Models, developed in collaboration with professional artists to deliver high-aesthetic designs.

Unlike massive public repositories whose unvetted catalogs require tedious searching and risk exposing families to unmoderated content or overly complex designs, ugee maker delivers a strictly moderated, kid-safe 3D model library. With weekly official releases alongside standout contributions from global creators, the catalog offers endless inspiration—ranging from interactive playsets and seasonal projects to STEM-focused models. All designs are packaged in universal STL format, delivering a truly guesswork-free printing experience.

ugee maker model library does not exist in isolation—it is deeply integrated with the broader ugee ecosystem. The ugee ufun app has already provided users worldwide with a convenient mobile management experience and built a sizable community of families and young makers. Building on this foundation, ugee maker further strengthens moderation mechanisms and expands content categories, offering users more exquisite and immersive model choices. Users can browse and select models through ugee maker, download them to ugee ufun, and print them via the ugee Funbox 3D printer—creating a seamless journey from inspiration discovery and model selection to finished output.

AI-Driven, Fun, and Customizable: How CreateLab Inspires Next-Gen Makers

Recognizing that conventional parametric CAD software alienates younger learners and novices, ugee maker introduces Create Lab. It turns 3D creation into an engaging, gamified experience—requiring zero prior CAD or 3D modeling experience. Through a suite of playful, intuitive tools, CreateLab nurtures children's spatial reasoning, problem-solving skills, and creativity from day one.

A standout feature is "AI Magic," powered by a strategic partnership with leading generative 3D platform Meshy AI. Children can simply sketch their wildest ideas—from dinosaurs and mythical monsters to spaceships—and upload their images to CreateLab, which automatically transforms the doodles into print-ready 3D model files. This creates an open-ended creative workflow that brings children's drawings to life as physical objects on any standard 3D printer.

Meanwhile, "Fun Playground" , uses a modular drag-and-drop interface, this mode allows users to assemble and personalize ready-to-use models. In themed experiences like "Garden World," kids can freely select and position flowers to design their dream garden. This hands-on interaction helps children naturally grasp foundational concepts such as 3D coordinate space and volume—delivering an approachable, edutainment-driven entry point into the 3D world.

Kid-Friendly and Parent-Approved: A Design That Welcomes Everyone

ugee maker is built from the ground up with young makers and their parents in mind. The platform features a child-friendly interface with playful UI design, colorful banners, and intuitive icons that make navigation effortless for even the youngest users. Core actions—such as importing a model and sharing a creation—are kept as simple as possible, with preset text options and cute emojis that lower the barrier for kids and parents to comment and engage. For first-time users, a dedicated onboarding guide and a comprehensive support center provide step-by-step tutorials, technical Q&A, and FAQs, ensuring that both kids and parents can get started with confidence and ease. Every detail is designed to make 3D printing feel approachable, safe, and fun for the whole family.

Launching Events and Future Outlook

ugee maker is officially live with an exclusive $1,000 prize giveaway! Users who sign up for a ugee maker account will be entered into the lucky draw for a chance to win!

Looking ahead, ugee maker will continue to expand its beginner-first ecosystem. The platform's roadmap includes an expanded suite of design tools within CreateLab, an interactive "Maker Square," a technical Q&A forum, a points-and-rewards system to incentivize uploads, and recurring 3D printing challenges with prizes.

About ugee

A global creative hardware enterprise distributing products across 100+ nations, ugee focuses on digital art equipment and educational STEM tools, extending its layout from drawing tablets to household 3D printing to fuel children's hands-on creativity.

Landmark partnership unites Function's lab testing and its Medical Intelligence (MI) with Google Health personalized guidance and Google wearables to give people a deeper understanding of their health.

AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Function and Google Health today announced a partnership to connect what people do every day with what's happening inside their bodies. Later this fall, US users will be able to share their Function lab test results into the Google Health app, giving them a more complete view of their health. The partnership brings everyday tracking and Function's lab testing and Medical Intelligence (MI) together in one experience built for everyday life.

Wearables like Google Fitbit Air, Pixel Watch 5, and the new Google Fitbit Edge have transformed how people understand their bodies, tracking signals like resting heart rate, sleep patterns, heart rate variability (HRV), and cardio load. When paired with Function's 160+ lab tests, those signals can show what's happening beneath the surface. Medical Intelligence can then turn each result into insights people can understand and act on.

"Everyone deserves to own their health," said Jonathan Swerdlin, Co-Founder and CEO of Function. "Health is going from being fragmented and siloed to securely available and ever-present for your daily decisions."

The partnership will bring together deeper health understanding across various areas, including:

- Cardiovascular and metabolic health: Insights from key markers such as Apolipoprotein B (ApoB), Lipoprotein(a), Fasting Insulin, and High-Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP), adding context beyond what wearables can measure.

- Hormone and nutrient health: Advanced thyroid, sex hormone, and nutrient testing, extending beyond what many routine checkups include.

- Connecting habits and health: Bringing daily behavior and biological markers into one view, helping people understand how changes in sleep, training, and nutrition relate to changes in their health over time.

Paired with Google Health Coach, lab test results and structured personal health record context will support tailored wellness guidance informed by each person's biology, routines, and goals.1 This richer understanding can help people recognize changes in their health earlier, make on-time decisions about their daily habits, and have informed conversations with clinicians.

Function and Google Health are expanding what is possible for people taking ownership of their health. This partnership marks another step toward advancing Function's mission to make 100 healthy years possible for 8 billion people.

About Function

Function is on a mission to enable everyone to live 100 healthy years. A groundbreaker in its category, Function has changed the game by making lab testing, MRI and CT, and longitudinal health data accessible, understandable, and actionable—serving millions. Function's Medical Intelligence Lab™ (MI Lab™) is leveraging a dedicated clinical team to develop a continuous learning system that helps its members see, understand, and act on their biology over time. Members receive access to 160+ lab tests—including biannual testing—for just $365/year, equivalent to $1 per day, covering the heart, hormones, thyroid, liver, kidneys, heavy metal exposures, nutrient levels, inflammation, potential cancer signals, and more. Morpheus8 Radiofrequency Microneedling in West Hollywood Sunset Oral and Facial Surgery
Image File
Original HTML

Board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon David Salehani, DDS, MD, offers Morpheus8 and Radiofrequency Assisted Lipolysis (RFAL) at Sunset Oral and Facial Surgery for skin tightening and facial recontouring, on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood. The minimally invasive treatment combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy and expands the practice's facial cosmetic services with a nonsurgical option for patients concerned with skin texture, scarring and mild skin laxity.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Sunset Oral and Facial Surgery, the practice of board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon David Salehani, DDS, MD, offers Morpheus8, FaceTite, and AccuTite procedures to patients throughout West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the greater Los Angeles area. The addition builds on the practice's existing facial cosmetic services, which include facial implants, genioplasty, and injectable treatments, by giving patients a minimally invasive option for improving the quality and firmness of their skin without surgery.

Morpheus8, developed by InMode, combines two techniques in a single treatment. Fine microneedles create tiny, controlled channels in the skin while radiofrequency energy is delivered beneath the surface to heat the deeper layers of tissue. The treatment is designed to stimulate the body's own collagen production, and the depth of the needles can be adjusted to reach up to four millimeters below the surface, allowing each session to be tailored to the area being treated and the patient's specific concern.

The treatment is most often used on the face, jawline and neck, and it can also be applied to other areas of the face and body. Patients commonly seek Morpheus8 for fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin texture, enlarged pores, acne scars, surgical scars, stretch marks and mild to moderate skin laxity. A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment, and a typical plan involves a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart. At Sunset Oral and Facial Surgery, the procedure is also offered with intravenous sedation for a painless experience. Temporary redness and swelling are common for a few days afterward, and many patients return to their normal routines within a day or two.

For Dr. Salehani, the treatment is a natural extension of a practice built around the structure of the face. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon trained in both dentistry and medicine, he evaluates how bone, muscle, fat and skin each contribute to a patient's appearance before recommending a course of care. During a consultation, he considers whether Morpheus8 alone is the right fit or whether a patient may be better served by FaceTite or AccuTite, which deliver radiofrequency energy beneath the skin through a small cannula, by a combination of treatments, or by a surgical approach.

"Many of my patients come to me for jaw surgery, chin procedures or facial implants, and they often ask what they can do about the skin itself," said Dr. Salehani. "Morpheus8 gives us a way to address texture, scarring and early laxity without surgery, and it fits well alongside the structural work we already do. My training lets me look at the whole face, from the bone to the skin, and recommend what will actually address a patient's concern. Sometimes that is Morpheus8 on its own, sometimes it is a combination, and sometimes it is something else entirely. Every plan starts with an honest conversation about the patient's goals."

Individual results vary by patient. Anyone considering Morpheus8 or another cosmetic treatment is encouraged to consult with a qualified provider to discuss whether it is appropriate for them.

ANSI Report Charts the Path from Hydrogen Standards to Safe, Large-Scale Deployment

Stakeholders call for a roadmap, training, and stronger coordination; companion landscape maps standards across the hydrogen value chain

NEW YORK, Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A robust portfolio of the standards needed to deploy hydrogen safely at scale are already in place. Continued success depends on helping the people who design, permit, inspect, and operate hydrogen systems find and apply them, according to a new report from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The report, "Advancing Hydrogen Standards and Codes," summarizes ANSI's June 2026 hydrogen standards workshop. ANSI has also released the Hydrogen Standards Landscape, a companion document that maps existing hydrogen standards across the value chain.

Hydrogen is essential to petroleum refining, fertilizer and chemical production, and metal processing. It also offers a path to cleaner transportation and power through fuel cells, and to large-scale storage of renewable energy. Standards help these applications scale safely, reliably, and efficiently—benefitting U.S. competitiveness, energy security, and public safety.

After reviewing these resources, stakeholders are encouraged to tell ANSI what priorities should be next.

Inside the Report

Held June 22–23, 2026, in Washington, DC, the workshop was the latest activity of ANSI's Hydrogen Standards Coordination Initiative, which works to advance the development and awareness of safety and technical standards across the full hydrogen value chain. Participants came from industry, government, standards development organizations (SDOs), conformity assessment bodies, research institutions, and end-user communities. Stakeholders consistently noted that barriers to deployment are often not the result of missing standards, but of challenges in implementing, adopting, and applying existing requirements.

The report outlines four primary implementation challenges:

- Limited familiarity with requirements. Authorities having jurisdiction (the local officials who approve and inspect projects), inspectors, emergency responders, and permitting officials may have limited exposure to hydrogen technologies and associated consensus standards. Participants viewed direct engagement, implementation guidance, and standards education and training as important steps toward more consistency and less uncertainty in deployment.

- Workforce readiness. Participants cautioned that hydrogen deployment could outpace the supply of qualified personnel if workforce development doesn't keep up.

- Operational experience and data. Participants emphasized sharing reliability, performance, safety, and deployment data as critical to informing standards, conformity assessment, permitting decisions, and the validation of emerging technologies. They added that research and lessons learned from deployments should inform future standards work.

- Coordination and alignment. Stakeholders called for better visibility into ongoing standards work, less fragmentation, stronger information-sharing, and better harmonization among standards developers, regulators, industry sectors, and international activities.

Looking Ahead

Participants generally favored building on existing standards and technical knowledge rather than creating entirely new frameworks. A hydrogen standards roadmap for storage and infrastructure received particularly strong support as a way to organize priorities, identify standards and research gaps, and coordinate work across the hydrogen ecosystem as these areas are critical to supporting all end-use applications. Participants also called for better standards navigation tools, expanded educational resources, and greater awareness of existing standards and certification pathways.

"The hydrogen community has already done much of the hard work of building standards. Now the job is making sure the people who design, permit, inspect, and operate hydrogen systems can find them, understand them, and apply them with confidence," said Christine Bernat, director of standards facilitation at ANSI. "This report and landscape are just the beginning; we need to keep the momentum and we invite stakeholders to influence how we turn these priorities into progress."

Companion Landscape Document

The Hydrogen Standards Landscape brings awareness to over 500 published standards, efforts underway at SDOs, and related guidance and regulatory documents. It covers the full hydrogen value chain, including production, storage, carbon capture, transportation, utilization, and related infrastructure. ANSI plans to migrate the landscape into an online database and periodically update the landscape as standards work continues and is reported to ANSI. Companions to the landscape are the March 2026 webinars, which offer stakeholders in-depth snapshots of several SDO portfolios.

ANSI thanks the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) for hosting the workshop, and the project's sponsors for funding support and technical assistance: Diamond Sponsors ASME, ASTM International, the Compressed Gas Association (CGA), and CSA Group; and Gold Sponsors the International Code Council (ICC), the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP), and SAE International.

Indoor Play Center Design for Comfort and Development Explained by Children's Play Expert Kristen Bonn in HelloNation
Image File

The article outlines how indoor play centers in Monroe County support motor development, social skills, and emotional growth through thoughtful design.

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What makes an indoor play center in Monroe County a positive environment for children's activities and development? HelloNation has published the answer in a HelloNation article featuring insights from Kristen Bonn of Play Palace.

The article explains that a well-designed indoor play center offers more than active fun. These environments are created to support children's focus, comfort, and confidence while encouraging exploration and play. Thoughtful design elements help children engage in ways that promote overall development.

Lighting and sound are key components discussed in the article. Soft, natural, or adjustable lighting helps reduce glare and creates a more comfortable play environment. The HelloNation article notes that sound-absorbing materials and controlled noise levels allow children to focus on activities without distraction. Quiet corners or calm areas provide space for children to pause, regroup, or shift to lower-energy children's activities when needed.

The layout of an indoor play center also plays an important role. Open floor plans with clearly defined zones help children understand where different types of play take place. Separate areas for climbing, imaginative play, and creative exploration encourage children to move at their own pace. Padded flooring and safe equipment support motor development while reducing the risk of injury.

Preparation before visiting an indoor play center can improve the experience. The article recommends comfortable, breathable clothing and socks with non-slip soles so children can move safely. Bringing familiar items, such as a water bottle or small toy, may help children feel more at ease. Reviewing rules and setting expectations ahead of time can reduce uncertainty and help children focus on play.

Social interaction is another important benefit highlighted in the article. Group play encourages children to share, take turns, and cooperate with peers. Interactive equipment and cooperative activities help build communication skills and teamwork. The Children's Play Expert notes through the article that guidance from staff or caregivers can further support positive social behavior during play.

The article also connects indoor play to cognitive and emotional growth. Children develop problem-solving skills as they navigate obstacles and explore different activities. Experiencing both success and challenges helps build resilience and emotional growth. Learning when to take breaks and how to manage frustration supports skills that extend beyond the play environment.

Practical considerations are also emphasized. Checking group size limits, understanding safety policies, and planning arrival and departure routines can make visits smoother. Structured play zones, trained staff, and clear instructions help create a safe and engaging environment. These elements allow families to focus on the experience rather than logistics.

The HelloNation article highlights that indoor play centers in Rochester and across Monroe County offer structured environments designed to support children's activities at different stages of development. With thoughtful layouts and well-maintained equipment, these spaces provide opportunities for motor development, social skills, and emotional growth in a safe setting.

Overall, the article presents indoor play centers as valuable environments that combine fun with developmental benefits. By planning ahead and understanding how the play environment is structured, families can help children get the most out of each visit. A well-prepared approach allows children to explore confidently while building important life skills.

What Makes a Sensory-Friendly Indoor Play Center in Monroe County explains how thoughtful play environment design supports children's activities, motor development, and emotional growth. What Makes a Sensory-Friendly Indoor Play Center in Monroe County features insights from Kristen Bonn, Children's Play Expert of Rochester, New York, in HelloNation.
