- Positive Phase 1 data were previously presented in an oral session at ASCO 2026

- Emi-Le received Breakthrough Therapy Designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the proposed treatment of patients with locally advanced, recurrent or metastatic ACC with solid histology or high-grade transformation

BOSTON, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Servier today announced the first patients have been dosed in the pivotal Phase 2 cohort (EMBLEM-1) of a Phase 1/2 study of Emiltatug Ledadotin (Emi-Le) in solid tumors. EMBLEM-1 is evaluating the antitumor activity and safety of Emi-Le, an investigational antibody drug conjugate (ADC) directed against B7-H4, in aggressive adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC).

"Dosing these first patients marks an important step in advancing Emi-Le as a potential targeted treatment for ACC, a difficult-to-treat cancer with no FDA-approved systemic treatment options," said Becky Martin, PhD, Chief of Medical, Servier Pharmaceuticals. "This milestone also underscores the momentum of Servier's growing oncology portfolio and our commitment to bringing scientific rigor and meaningful innovation to rare cancers where patients face significant unmet need. We look forward to sharing these data with the scientific community."

The primary endpoint is objective response rate (ORR)—defined as the percentage of patients who achieve a best overall response of confirmed complete response (CR) or partial response (PR)— per RECIST 1.1.

The initiation of EMBLEM-1 is supported by clinical data from a Phase 1 analysis of Emi-Le, which demonstrated a differentiated safety profile and were presented in an oral session at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2026 Annual Meeting.

Earlier this year, Emi-Le received Breakthrough Therapy Designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the proposed treatment of patients with locally advanced, recurrent or metastatic ACC with solid histology or high-grade transformation.

The EMBLEM-1 cohort is currently enrolling (NCT05377996). Additional details regarding the clinical trial can be found here.

About Emi-Le

Emi-Le is an investigational B7-H4-directed Dolasynthen antibody drug conjugate (ADC) with a drug-to-antibody ratio (DAR) of 6 and a proprietary auristatin-F HPA payload designed to provide a controlled bystander effect as demonstrated in preclinical models. Emi-Le is under evaluation in an ongoing Phase 1/2 clinical trial and has not been approved by the FDA, and its safety and effectiveness have not been established. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted Fast Track designations to Emi-Le for the treatment of 1) adult patients with advanced or metastatic triple-negative breast cancer, and 2) advanced or metastatic HER2 low / HER2 negative breast cancer post-topo-1 ADC (including TNBC and certain HR+ breast cancers). It has also received Breakthrough Designation from the FDA for the treatment of patients with locally advanced, recurrent or metastatic adenoid cystic carcinoma with solid histology or high-grade transformation. For more information about the trial, visit clinicaltrials.gov (NCT05377996).

About Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma

Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) occurs in the secretory glands, typically in the head and neck, but also in other areas of the body. Globally, more than 200,000 people have ACC. It is diagnosed in roughly four per one million people annually and does not discriminate by ethnicity or lifestyle factors. Today there are no approved or preferred systemic therapies to treat advanced or metastatic ACC; most people are treated with surgery or radiation, but the disease recurs in 50 percent of cases, often becoming more aggressive with metastases in distant areas of the body.1

HONG KONG, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Hypershell, the world's leading consumer exoskeleton brand, is excited to announce that X Ultra S has been selected for TIME's 2026 Best Inventions list in the Sports & Fitness category. The recognition underscores Hypershell's continued innovation in AI-powered wearable robotics and its mission to expand human mobility through technology.

For 26 years, TIME has highlighted the world's most impactful new products and ideas through its annual Best Inventions issue. Each year, innovations across rapidly evolving fields are evaluated against key criteria such as originality, efficacy, ambition, and real-world impact.

"It's an incredible honor to have Hypershell X Ultra S recognized among TIME's Best Inventions of 2026. Exoskeletons are no longer science fiction. They're helping everyday people go farther than they thought possible," said Kelvin Sun, founder and CEO of Hypershell.

Highlighting the growing demand in a global exoskeleton market projected to reach $1.79 billion by 2033, TIME commended Hypershell X Ultra S for overcoming a common industry hurdle: the rigid feel of traditional robotic wearables. "X Ultra S brings AI and precision robotics together with advanced wearable technology to take the strain off your legs and knees, lighten every climb, and help you go farther with less fatigue," Kelvin added. Key features of the Hypershell X Ultra S include:

- The flagship model X Ultra S is built for mixed terrain and demanding outdoor conditions. The revolutionary HyperIntuition™ motion control algorithm analyzes user movements in real-time for seamless, natural assistance without the rigidity of traditional exoskeletons.

- The ultra-lightweight, 1.7 kg foldable device is verified by Germany's TÜV Rheinland to achieve 97.5% gait synchronization.

- Powered by a 1000W motor system that responds to the user's stride in just 0.31 seconds, SGS certification proves the exoskeleton decreases average oxygen consumption by up to 39.2% and lowers average heart rate by up to 42.7%.

- Built with an aerospace-grade titanium alloy chassis to withstand the elements from -20°C to 60°C, the exoskeleton offers adventurers hands-free control via the Hypershell+ app and Apple Watch to effortlessly amplify their natural exploration.

The TIME recognition further adds to a remarkable year for Hypershell, following honors from Fast Company's 2026 Next Big Things in Tech, Fast Company's World Changing Ideas Awards and the Tom's Guide Fitness Awards 2026. Together, these recognitions reflect growing industry acknowledgment of Hypershell's role in bringing consumer exoskeleton technology closer to mainstream adoption.

Calamos Extends Autocallable Leadership through CAYN--World's First Indexed Least-Of Autocallable Income ETF

Calamos Extends Autocallable Leadership through CAYN--World's First Indexed Least-Of Autocallable Income ETF

- Calamos continues to innovate in autocallable ETFs with an indexed approach to the popular "least-of" (also known as "worst-of") autocallable income structure—expanding upon the broadest line of autocallable ETFs in the world.

- CAYN links income payments and principal repayment to the weakest performer among SPY, QQQ and IWM, via a weekly ladder of synthetic notes, each with a three-year maturity, 30% downside coupon and principal barriers, and a coupon-memory feature.

- CAYN seeks enhanced tax efficiency, improved coupon reliability and greater principal preservation relative to single notes and non-indexed worst-of ETFs.

METRO CHICAGO, Ill., Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- John Koudounis, President and CEO of Calamos, a leading alternatives manager, today announced the planned launch of the Calamos Least-Of Autocallable Income ETF (CAYN) on October 26, 2026. Calamos developed CAYN with MerQube and Citibank as the world's first indexed approach to autocallable income tied to the popular "worst-of" structured note strategy.

"The autocallable ETF category is taking off, with growing investor demand for multiple strategies. Our planned launch of CAYN further demonstrates Calamos' leadership in the autocallable ETF space that we created with CAIE in 2025," said John Koudounis, President and CEO of Calamos. "We're excited to improve the least-of strategy and to soon offer another powerful product for income-oriented investors seeking higher coupons from equities."

Calamos was named Asset Manager of the Year (AUM between $25 billion and $500 billion) at the 2026 MMI/Barron's Industry Awards. Its Autocallable ETF lineup has also received multiple awards alone in 2026, including Investment Product Innovation (MMI/Barron's) and, from SRP Americas, Best Structured ETF Solution and ETF Innovation of the Year.1

"For investors looking for a worst-of autocallable solution, we've built the first indexed least-of autocallable strategy, designed to bring tax-efficiency, liquidity, and a degree of principal preservation and coupon reliability to the most popular product type in the legacy autocallable yield note market," said Matt Kaufman, Global Head of ETFs at Calamos. "CAYN will use the same 'Structured ETF' framework that has powered the success of CAIE, CAIQ and CAGE—trading an index on swap, an innovation that the worst-of autocallable strategy has never seen before in the ETF space. We look forward to expanding the Calamos Autocallable ETF family for investors seeking one of the most popular forms of autocallable income via the ETF wrapper."

About the ETF

CAYN is designed to seek high, tax-efficient income by tying income and principal repayment to the weakest performer among three ETFs representing large-cap stocks (SPY), growth stocks (QQQ) and small-cap stocks (IWM). Rather than investing in a single worst-of autocallable note ("note") or a non-indexed worst-of autocallable ETF, CAYN provides exposure to a weekly laddered index of at least 52 synthetic worst-of autocallable notes, each with a three-year maturity and 30% downside coupon and principal barriers. When a note in the portfolio is called away, the principal is returned to the fund and reinvested in a new note with the same terms. Each note's three-year term is designed to allow more time to recover from market declines, seeking to reduce the risk of principal impairment.

CAYN's index also features a "memory" mechanism that stores missed coupons and pays them once the worst-performing constituent is back above the coupon barrier. Calamos will trade the MerQube US Equity Least-Of Autocallable Index (MQAUTOWL) on swap. CAYN intends to take a multi-counterparty approach, with Citibank as the primary counterparty.

Before investing, carefully consider the Fund's investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses. Please see the prospectus and summary prospectus containing this and other information which can be obtained by calling 1-866-363-9219. Read it carefully before investing.

An investment in the Fund is subject to risks, and you could lose money on your investment in the Fund. There can be no assurance that the Fund will achieve its investment objective. Your investment in the Fund is not a deposit in a bank and is not insured or guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) or any other government agency. The risks associated with an investment in the Fund can increase during times of significant market volatility. The Fund also has specific principal risks, which are described below. More detailed information regarding these risks can be found in the Fund's prospectus. The principal risks of investing in the Calamos Least-of Autocallable Income Fund include: authorized participant concentration risk, autocallable structure risk, contingent income risk, early redemption risk, barrier risk, box spread risk, calculation methodology risk, cash holdings risk, correlation risk, costs of buying and selling fund shares, counterparty risk, credit risk, derivatives risk, equity securities risk, FLEX options risk, index risk, interest rate risk, investment in a subsidiary, laddered portfolio risk, liquidity risk, market maker risk, market risk, new fund risk, non-diversification risk, other investment companies risk, premium-discount risk, secondary market trading risk, swap arrangement risk, swap agreement termination risk, tax risk, trading issues risk, valuation risk.

Autocallable Structure Risk — The Fund's returns are correlated to the performance of a theoretical portfolio of Autocallables reflected by the Autocallable Index. Autocallable notes have specific structural features that may be unfamiliar to many investors.

Contingent Income Risk — Coupon payments from the Autocallables are not guaranteed and will not be made if the least performing Constituent falls below the Coupon Barrier on Observation Dates. This means the Fund may generate significantly less income than anticipated during market downturns.

Barrier Risk — If the least-performing Constituent falls below the Maturity Barrier at the maturity of an Autocallable in the Index Portfolio, that portion of the Index Portfolio will be fully exposed to the negative performance of the least-performing Constituent from its initial level. This conditional protection creates a binary outcome that can result in sudden, significant losses if barriers are breached.

Since welcoming the Cross-Sell brand into DataOne earlier this year, DataOne has accelerated efforts to expand state coverage of vehicle registration and sales data. In addition to Massachusetts, Cross-Sell Reports recently added Mississippi, Kansas and Georgia to its coverage.

"Our goal is to make DataOne the most accurate and comprehensive source of vehicle registration and sales data, however customers choose to use it," says Maki. "For a dealer, that might be a Cross-Sell Interactive dashboard tuned to their local market. EY Pulse of the MedTech Industry Report 2026: Blockbuster performers and innovation drive record MedTech industry growth
Image File

Broader MedTech industry at turning point, seeking positioning to optimize portfolios, differentiate technology and improve R&D

- Innovation drives increased dealmaking and R&D investment: MedTech saw a resurgence in deal size with M&A value up 160% in the first half of 2026 vs. the same period in 2025, reflecting investments in next-generation technologies, including AI-enabled diagnostics, robotics, structural heart, diabetes care and minimally invasive therapies.

- AI is reshaping the future of value creation: AI integration in MedTech is unlocking new business opportunities and scalable value creation, alongside a record and growing number of FDA-authorized AI-enabled devices.

- Industry growth is expanding into alternative care settings: MedTech is increasingly moving beyond traditional care settings and capturing growth in alternative care markets, particularly the rapidly expanding ambulatory surgery center (ASC) market and direct to consumer/patient.

NEW YORK, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The 20th edition of the Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) Pulse of the MedTech Industry report finds that the global medical technology (MedTech) industry is at a turning point. Following a period of record-setting growth and investment across the US and Europe, the sector finds itself at a revenue high point, even amid challenges, including negative investor sentiment and persistent global trade and supply chain uncertainties.

Despite a challenging operating environment, the MedTech industry saw sustained growth in 2025, reaching approximately US$650 billion in revenue and representing growth of 11%, and continued to demonstrate top-line performance in the first half of 2026, generating $325 billion in revenue, a 7.1% increase compared with the same time period in 2025. Therapeutic devices led industry growth, followed by non-imaging diagnostic, imaging, and lab equipment and tools. However, growth was highly concentrated among commercial leaders, highlighting a widening performance gap across the industry.

"MedTech has rebounded from YTD June lows and has underperformed the broader markets in 2026. The sector has continued to demonstrate resiliency, with record revenue financing and strong M&A activity setting the stage for a bright future," says John Babitt, EY Global MedTech Leader. "The broader sector players are at a turning point where discipline is essential to convert innovation into profitable growth."

Other key findings include:

- MedTech financing reached a record US$63 billion for the year ended June 30, 2026, up 87% year over year – the highest seen in the last decade. Together, initial public offerings and debt accounted for around 80% of total capital raised, indicating that recovery has been driven primarily by public-market reopening and strategic balance sheet financing rather than broad-based funding strength.

- MedTech M&A reached its highest level in more than a decade, with total disclosed deal value surging to roughly US$130 billion. However, this recovery was driven by a limited number of blockbuster transactions.

- Innovation remains at the core of MedTech's heartbeat, with growth largely driven by a breakout group of high-performing, high-differentiation, high-innovation strategic leaders. Companies that delivered both high R&D productivity and EBIT margin expansion generated an average total shareholder return of approximately 13.8%.

- AI in MedTech is observing a transformation, with intelligence being deeply embedded into devices and the care pathways around them. Hardware design, clinical evidence and manufacturing quality will remain fundamental and are increasingly being complemented by the quality of the algorithms, data and digital services surrounding the product.

- Venture capital fundraising remained resilient in 2026, with overall activity skewed toward earlier-stage innovation, highlighting improved investment activity and continued investor conviction in differentiated technologies addressing significant unmet clinical needs.

"MedTech is entering a new era of growth, and today's challenges are the catalyst for the industry's next transformations," says Diana Hoff, EY Americas Life Sciences Sector Leader. "As companies navigate margin pressure, supply chain risk and global trade uncertainty, the leaders of the next decade will be those that embrace AI, make more deliberate portfolio choices and build productive, resilient operating models that turn innovation into sustained growth and value."

Looking ahead, MedTechs that maintain innovation while also building conviction across capital allocation and portfolio optimization will be best positioned to set the pace of the pulse of the industry in the years to come.

Clinical ink Announces Strategic Investment from Ardan Equity and GI Partners to Accelerate Next Phase of Growth

Ardan and GI to bring deep, complementary domain expertise across life sciences and healthcare technology and partner with management to further accelerate Clinical ink's growth

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Clinical ink, a global clinical trial technology company, today announced investments from Ardan Equity ("Ardan"), a private equity firm specializing in healthcare technology, through Ardan Equity Fund I and from GI Partners ("GI"), a leading private investment firm that has partnered with the company since 2020, through GI Partners Fund VI. Existing investors, including GI Partners Fund V, realized a full exit of their prior investments, and Ardan and GI Partners both invested new equity in a co-control partnership.

Clinical ink provides electronic clinical outcome assessments (eCOA), connected device and other eClinical technologies to pharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations (CROs) to capture complex clinical trial data. Its combination of configurable technology, complex endpoint expertise, and integrated device capabilities support the latest FDA requirements in clinical trials as well as the emerging era of technology-enabled clinical care.

Drawing on their complementary life sciences and healthcare technology expertise, Ardan and GI will collaborate closely with management to continue to scale the Clinical ink platform globally, pursue opportunities across clinical research and care, and deliver innovative solutions that meet the rapidly evolving needs of the industry, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Since GI's initial investment in 2020, Clinical ink has expanded its global footprint, market position, platform, and capabilities. During that time, the company has meaningfully grown revenue, expanded therapeutic areas, deepened preferred provider relationships with leading pharmaceutical companies, launched differentiated solutions (including GlucoseReady and SPUR), and began its expansion into clinical care disease management through the Kaitality™ application.

Dave Kreter, Managing Director and Head of Healthcare at GI Partners, said, "We are pleased with the performance of the company since our 2020 investment and the tremendous progress the company has made in expanding its customer base and strengthening its position as a leading global clinical trial technology provider. Our partnership with CEO Jonathan Goldman and the Clinical ink team, together with GI's decade-plus experience investing in the healthcare technology and pharma services space, have delivered strong results to date. Looking ahead, we believe the accelerating pace of pharma R&D, the increasing complexity in clinical trials, and the need for high-quality tech solutions will provide strong tailwinds behind Clinical ink, and we look forward to building on that success alongside Ardan as the company enters its next phase of growth."

"We're delighted to welcome Clinical ink as our inaugural investment in Ardan Equity Fund I and as our eighth platform investment since 2020. We believe Clinical ink is at a key inflection point, with a compelling platform, a growing portfolio of leading pharmaceutical sponsors, and a strong path towards further expanding its footprint across the industry," said Noah Lewis, Managing Partner at Ardan Equity. "Its differentiated technology, endpoint expertise, and patient-centric approach make Clinical ink a compelling partnership for Ardan and an ideal fit for our investment thesis, our healthcare and life sciences technology sector specialist strategy, and our portfolio. We look forward to partnering with GI, Jonathan Goldman and the Clinical ink management team as we seek to accelerate the company's next phase of growth."

Jonathan Goldman, MD, Chief Executive Officer of Clinical ink, stated, "The management team and I are excited to work closely with Ardan and GI Partners to drive the next chapter of Clinical ink's evolution. We were impressed with Ardan's expertise, capabilities, and commitment to our company's growth. Our team is delighted that our long-term investors at GI remain with us given their longstanding experience with the company and its growth plans. The new investment by Ardan and GI represents a very positive development for our customers, the patients they serve, and the Clinical ink team."

Centerview Partners LLC and Guggenheim Securities, LLC served as financial advisors and Ropes & Gray LLP served as legal advisor to Clinical ink and GI Partners Fund V. Goodwin Procter LLP served as legal advisor to Ardan and Kirkland & Ellis LLP served as legal advisor to GI Partners Fund VI. Raymond James also acted as financial advisor to Ardan and GI Partners Fund VI. Ernst & Young, LLP acted as financial advisor to Ardan.

Current Screening Thresholds May Miss Half of Patients with Primary Aldosterone, a Leading Cause of Severe High Blood Pressure, Finds Study in Hypertension
Image File
Original HTML

Half of patients with the hormonal disorder, which raises risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney disease, may be undiagnosed under current screening thresholds

SECAUCUS, N.J., Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A new study finds that current medical guidelines may inadvertently lead to under-diagnosis of primary aldosteronism (PA), a hormonal disorder associated with hypertension that can significantly raise a person's risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney disease if left untreated.

Published in the journal Hypertension, a publication of the American Heart Association, the findings suggest that changing the diagnostic threshold for PA would double the detection rate, identifying thousands of high-risk patients who may otherwise be undiagnosed and untreated.

Researchers from Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX), a leading provider of diagnostic information services, Mass General Brigham, Harvard Medical School and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School conducted the study, based on deidentified results of lab tests performed by Quest on over 60,449 patients in the United States.

Primary aldosteronism occurs when the adrenal glands produce too much aldosterone, a hormone that helps regulate sodium and potassium in the blood. High blood pressure is a defining feature of the condition, though affected individuals may have other common symptoms like headaches or muscle cramps. If left untreated, several complications can occur.

In 2025, the Endocrine Society published guidelines that recommend screening for PA for all patients with high blood pressure and included criteria for diagnosing PA. However, the new study suggests these guidelines are "overly restrictive," with laboratory cutoffs for aldosterone levels that detect only the most advanced cases of the disease. The guideline update also recommends plasma renin activity (PRA), a blood test that measures the conversion of renin in the kidneys, as the initial screening test.

When the researchers applied the 2025 criteria (PRA ≤1 ng/mL/h, aldosterone levels ≥7.5 ng/dL, ARR > 15) to the patient cohort, only 13.0% of individuals were identified as positive for PA. However, a broader, "permissive" set of criteria (PRA ≤1 ng/mL/h, aldosterone levels >5 ng/dL, without an ARR requirement) applied to the same cohort identified approximately twice as many patients, 26.2%, with PA. Additionally, clinical conditions consistent with PA such as hypertension, hypokalemia, and atrial fibrillation (based on insurance claim billing), were enriched among patients categorized as positive for PA by the more permissive laboratory cutoffs.

Among patients identified by the more permissive criteria, a PRA score of 0.5 ng/mL/hr had 1.27 times higher odds of having hypertension compared to those with a higher (or normal) PRA (P 0.0001). Patients with a PRA of 0.25 ng/mL/hr had 2.62 times higher odds of having atrial fibrillation (P = 0.0032). 79.0% of the additional patients identified by permissive criteria were missed by the 2025 criteria because they had aldosterone levels between 5 and 7.5 ng/dL, below the ES cutoff, while approximately one in five had aldosterone levels that met the ES criteria but did not meet the ARR threshold.

The findings suggest the 2025 guidelines may guide physicians to identify only the more advanced forms of the disease and that primary aldosteronism should be viewed as a spectrum rather than a positive or negative diagnosis of disease. Earlier detection using more relaxed diagnostic criteria may help clinicians identify and intervene with care with potential to prevent long-term cardiovascular complications.

"Our findings demonstrate that current international clinical guidelines for diagnosing primary aldosteronism are optimized to identify advanced disease but may be less sensitive for earlier or milder forms of PA," said lead author Marco Marcelli, MD, a board-certified endocrinologist and Medical Director at Quest Diagnostics. "Some patients with PA spend years on a diagnostic journey before learning their hypertension, headaches and other symptoms are due to a highly treatable condition. More expansive screening and diagnostic criteria may help the medical community to quickly identify these individuals hiding in plain sight before irreversible heart damage and other adverse outcomes have occurred."

The study's strengths include its large patient cohort and its limitations include its retrospective design and lack of confirmatory testing.

Primary aldosteronism is a serious condition that affects as many as 5-10% of adults with high blood pressure. Up to 25-30% of patients with hypertension may be diagnosed with PA if the criteria identified by the Quest group will eventually be confirmed in prospective studies. High blood pressure is widely prevalent in the U.S., affecting nearly half of all adults (almost 120 million individuals). For many years, PA was considered uncommon; however, a 2024 study published in Hypertension by researchers at Quest Diagnostics shows PA is likely under-detected.

Breaking the Limits, Generation After Generation: The HONOR X Series Durability Legacy

Breaking the Limits, Generation After Generation: The HONOR X Series Durability Legacy

From reinforced glass to two Guinness World Records — how every HONOR X Series phone broke the limit of its class, and how HONOR X9e Pro breaks nearly all of them at once.

DUBAI, UAE, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Durability has become one of the most recognisable signatures of HONOR's X Series. But that reputation wasn't built by one tough phone, it was built by a pattern. Generation after generation, HONOR hasn't just made the X Series tougher. It has made each new model the phone that broke the limit of what a device in its class was expected to survive: independently certified, put through record-breaking public tests, and, twice now, enshrined in the Guinness Book of World Records. Generation after generation, the X Series has become known for pushing beyond what a smartphone in its class is expected to withstand, earning its reputation as a truly unbreakable series.

From reinforced displays to whole-device protection, from drop resistance to water, dust and battery endurance, the X Series story is one of continuously raising — and breaking — the benchmark. With HONOR X9e Pro, that legacy reaches its most advanced chapter yet: a phone that doesn't break one limit at a time, but several of them at once.

X9a: Breaking the Limit on What a Display Could Survive

The story starts with the display, because that's traditionally where phones fail first.

HONOR X9a introduced deeply reinforced 0.65mm glass capable of withstanding more than 900MPa of stress — at a time when most phones in its class treated the screen as the weak point rather than an engineered one. HONOR tested the device through marble drops, squeezing, rolling and steel-ball impact, establishing early on that resistance to everyday damage would become the defining trait of the X Series. HONOR X9a was known the smartphone with the strongest display at that time.

X9b: The First Phone in the Industry to Prove It

HONOR X9b turned that philosophy into a much stronger, and independently verified, proposition. Its HONOR Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop technology delivered 360-degree whole-device protection, reinforcing not just the screen but the frame and internal compartments, and supported drop resistance from heights of up to 1.5 metres.

Crucially, this generation is where the claims stopped being HONOR's alone. X9b became the first smartphone in the entire industry to receive Switzerland's SGS Five-Star Overall Drop Resistance Certification, the moment durability shifted from something HONOR claimed to something that could be externally tested, scored and verified.

X9c: Breaking the Limit on Paper Then in Front of 264 People

X9c raised the benchmark again, expanding protection to cover drop, water and scratch resistance, with certified drop resistance climbing to 2 metres. It became the world's first smartphone to achieve SGS's Five-Star Comprehensive Reliability Certification — a shift from protecting individual components to certifying the reliability of the whole device.

Then HONOR took that confidence out of the lab. On 6 January 2025, 264 people simultaneously dropped HONOR X9c smartphones screen-first from shoulder height during a launch event in Manila, Philippines. Every single device counted in the attempt survived, earning HONOR Philippines an official Guinness World Records title for the Most People Performing a Mobile Phone Drop Test Simultaneously, the first time the X Series legacy was written into the record books.

X9d: Breaking the Height Limit Altogether

X9d pushed the ambition further still, adding a six-layer drop-resistant structure, tougher water and dust protection up to IP69K with 30 minutes of submersion at 1.5 metres, and a substantially larger battery to back up its "Unbreakable AI Smartphone" positioning. It became the first phone to hold both the SGS Triple-Resistant Premium Performance Certification and the SGS 5-Star Comprehensive Reliability Certification at the same time.

And then it went after the biggest record yet. In September 2025, HONOR X9d survived an intact free fall from 6.133 metres under controlled testing conditions — more than four times the drop height X9b had been certified for just two generations earlier — earning a second Guinness World Records title for the Highest Drop of a Smartphone.

HONOR X9e Pro: Where the Legacy Breaks Every Limit at Once

Every generation before it broke one limit at a time — a height, a certification, a record. HONOR X9e Pro is where that pattern changes: durability is now engineered as one connected system, and it pushes past the previous limit on nearly every axis simultaneously, rather than picking a single headline number to chase.

Arch-shaped impact-dispersal structures around the corners and perimeter, supported by high-strength metal reinforcement in the mid-frame, redirect the force of a fall away from the display and mainboard — supporting drops from up to 3 metres onto smooth marble and earning SGS Five-Star certification for Drop Resistance in Harsh Scenarios. A continuous PUR shear-resistant adhesive around the display edges delivers approximately 10 times the shear resistance[1] of a conventional backing adhesive, reducing movement between display and frame on impact.

On the water and dust side, X9e Pro carries IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings together, tested through immersion at depths of up to 10 metres, roughly 100,000 water-exposure cycles and a 24-hour continuous salt-spray test. It's also rated to withstand hot-water exposure up to 85°C[2], an industry-leading heat-resistance claim in its class.

And the battery breaks its own limit too: an 11,000mAh fourth-generation silicon-carbon battery — 2,700mAh larger than the previous generation and the largest in its category — while the phone stays approximately 8.08mm thin and around 203g. Toughness, this time, doesn't come at the cost of the everyday smartphone experience.

A Legacy Defined by Breaking the Bar, Not Just Raising It

Each X Series generation didn't just replace the last one. It had to prove, independently and often publicly, that it had broken the limit the previous phone set. That is the legacy HONOR X9e Pro inherits — and, on nearly every front, the one it now extends.
