Bild-Infos Download 2 weitere Medieninhalte

Leipzig (ots)

„Tischvorlage I: Von Zwangsgebühr und Staatsfunk“

„Made in Triptis“

„Geschwister: Ein letzter Wunsch“

GLP-1 Users Are Spending Nearly 4x More on Fitness Than Other Consumers, New Report Finds

The Consumer Collective's national study of 500 U.S. adults shows GLP-1 users spend $449 a month on fitness, against $120 for non-users

BROOKLYN, N.Y., Aug. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Consumer Collective, a consumer insights and advisory firm, today released How America Spends on Fitness, a field report on U.S. fitness and wellbeing spending, which includes a focused study on GLP-1 medication users.

The headline finding: consumers taking GLP-1 medications spend $449 a month on fitness across categories, compared to $120 a month for non-users

GLP-1 users are more likely to pay for a gym membership (81 percent, against 43 percent of non-users) and spend more on personal training, supplements, and recovery. They also report walking more, doing more cardio, and eating more protein. At the same time, they say they're eating out, snacking, and drinking alcohol less than before starting the medication. GLP-1 users also report spending more at the grocery store even as restaurant and snack spending declines, pointing to a shift toward higher-quality food rather than simply eating less.

Clothing is a related spending driver: 63.4 percent of GLP-1 users report buying new clothes due to weight changes, and more than two-thirds have dropped at least two sizes.

25 percent of consumers surveyed report having taken a GLP-1 medication at some point, and 15 percent are currently taking one. Weight loss is the primary reason cited (61.8 percent), followed by diabetes and prediabetes management.

Beyond GLP-1 use, the report finds that health motivations are outpacing appearance-driven ones across the board. 70 percent of consumers say their focus on health is higher than it was a year ago, and sleep (87 percent) and mental wellbeing (86 percent) now rank above physical fitness (68 percent) and healthy eating (66 percent) as top consumer priorities.

Millennials lead both trends, spending $345 a month on fitness — the highest of any generation — and reporting the highest GLP-1 usage rate, at 29 percent.

"Fitness is one of the most important categories to consumers right now, but it's also an area where they tighten spending when things get tough. This report identifies shifting consumer habits and bright spots where spending is likely to remain fairly steady." Allison Collins, cofounder, The Consumer Collective

Methodology: The Consumer Collective fielded this survey online in July 2026 among a national sample of 500 U.S. adults ages 18–64, examining fitness, wellbeing, and GLP-1 medication habits. Figures are stratified to U.S. census demographics (age, gender, and region) unless otherwise noted. GLP-1 findings are based on a subsample of 123 users and 377 non-users.

About the report: How America Spends on Fitness is available now as a 20-page instant download at theconsumercollective.co. The report covers fitness motivation, spending by category, the GLP-1 effect on lifestyle and spending, and brand implications across the fitness, apparel, and wellness categories.

Memorandum of Understanding establishes a framework for joint development of clinical trial simulation capabilities

The partnership unites global clinical operations excellence with advanced digital twin technology, delivering simulation-first drug development to biotech sponsors navigating an era of compressed timelines and escalating trial costs.

SOMERSET, N.J., Aug. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- At a time when biopharma R&D productivity is declining and the cost of bringing a single drug to market exceeds $2.6 billion, two companies are converging capabilities to change how clinical trials are designed, sized, and executed.

L-R: Karen Chu, CEO & Founder, HiRO; Shirley Wen, Founder, Differentia Biotech

Harvest Integrated Research Organization (HiRO), a full-service global clinical research organization (CRO), and Differentia Biotech Ltd. ("Differentia"), a pioneer in knowledge-empowered modeling and simulation for drug development, today announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishing a strategic collaboration between the two companies. The agreement was formalized at HiRO's office, marking a new step in both organizations' efforts to bring more integrated, data-driven solutions to biopharmaceutical sponsors worldwide.

Under the MOU, HiRO and Differentia will pursue collaboration across two major areas, which address the pain points of biotech companies: joint exploration and development of clinical trial simulation models that combine HiRO's global clinical operations, data science, and real-world data expertise with Differentia's AI-powered digital twin and modeling and simulation platforms; and the development of new product offerings and commercial solutions built on those combined simulation capabilities.

The clinical trial simulation collaboration sits at the center of the partnership. By pairing HiRO's operational experience running trials across oncology, rare disease, cell and gene therapy, radiopharmaceuticals, and other complex indications with Differentia's modeling and simulation platforms, the collaboration leverages simulation-informed approaches to support smarter trial design, more efficient patient selection, potential reduction in the number of subjects needed, and better-informed sponsor decision-making earlier in development.

The collaboration reflects a shared view that sponsors increasingly benefit from pairing disciplined clinical trial execution with advanced modeling and simulation, helping to inform smarter trial design, manage risk, and support timelines across complex therapeutic areas.

Chief Executive Officer and Founder of HiRO, Karen Chu said, "Drug developers don't just need faster trials, they need smarter ones. Differentia's modeling and simulation expertise complements the operational discipline HiRO brings to every study, and this collaboration lets us explore how those strengths work together for the clients we both serve. We are aiming to support our biotech clients in better decision-making."

Founder of Differentia, Shirley Wen said, "As biopharma R&D productivity continues to decline, clinical development has become an increasingly significant source of cost, time, and risk. As FDA and global regulators increasingly embrace model-informed drug development, the industry must move from 'test in humans first' toward 'simulate first, then test in humans.' Together with HiRO's clinical development expertise, we aim to improve clinical success, reduce trial size, and accelerate time to market—ultimately creating greater value and ROI for every asset."

Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Differentia, Kas Subramanian said, "By fusing advanced AI and biosimulations with HiRO's industry-leading clinical research expertise, we are creating high-fidelity digital twins that will fundamentally alter the drug development paradigm, allowing biotech pioneers to de-risk assets in a virtual environment and run the most efficient trials."

HiRO and Differentia expect to share additional details on specific collaborative initiatives as the partnership progresses.

TSY-110 is positioned to become the first biosimilar alternative to Roche's Kadcyla® (ado-trastuzumab emtansine) in major regulated markets.

TAIPEI, Aug. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Formosa Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (TWSE: 6838), today announced the submission of a Clinical Trial Application (CTA) to European regulatory authorities to conduct a pivotal clinical trial for TSY-110. TSY-110 is a biosimilar candidate referencing Roche's antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) Kadcyla® (ado-trastuzumab emtansine), indicated for HER2-positive metastatic and early-stage breast cancer.

Designed following regulatory guidance from both US and EU authorities, the upcoming trial will evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and immunogenicity profile of TSY-110 compared with the reference product. This milestone advances Formosa Pharmaceuticals' and EirGenix's shared goal of providing cost-effective biosimilar ADC treatments to patients across regulated global markets.

"Filing this CTA marks a significant achievement for Formosa Pharmaceuticals and underscores our strategic alliance with EirGenix," said Erick Co, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Formosa Pharmaceuticals. "Antibody-drug conjugates have established themselves as mainstays in oncology, including HER2-positive breast cancer care, but patient access remains constrained by high treatment costs. Advancing TSY-110 into clinical evaluation is a momentous step toward fulfilling our goal of delivering world-class, accessible ADC options to oncologists and patients."

About TSY-110

TSY-110, also designated as EG12043, is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) biosimilar co-developed by Formosa Pharmaceuticals and EirGenix, Inc. (TWSE: 6589). The conjugate links HER2 monoclonal antibody, trastuzumab, with a cytotoxic payload (mertansine) to selectively eradicate HER2-overexpressing cancer cells while minimizing systemic toxicity. Comprehensive preclinical assessments demonstrate high biosimilarity, drug-antibody ratio (DAR) consistency, and comparable plasma kinetics to the reference product.

About HER2-Positive Breast Cancer Market

HER2-positive breast cancer accounts for a significant portion of all breast cancer diagnoses globally. Approximately 2.4 million breast cancer cases were diagnosed in 2024, with HER2+ disease affecting roughly 360,000 to 480,000 of these patients based on the standard 15–20% prevalence rate. HER2-targeted therapies continue to be a prominent tool in modern oncological care. Kadcyla®, approved by the FDA in 2013, generated approximately $2.5 billion in global sales in 2025.

The new location extends Freedom Home Care's private-pay home care services into McHenry and Kane counties for the first time.

HUNTLEY, Ill., Aug. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Freedom Home Care, a private-pay home care provider and member of the PurposeCare family of companies, marked the opening of its first location outside the North Shore suburbs with a ribbon-cutting ceremony August 13. The company has operated in the North Shore for more than 28 years.

At a Glance:

New office: 12151 Regency Parkway, Suite 12169, Huntley, Illinois 60142

Ribbon-cutting took place: August 13, 2026

New office will focus on community programs, including Meaningful Mondays, launching September 2026

Newly reached service area: McHenry and Kane counties, including Huntley, Algonquin, and surrounding suburbs

The new location brings Freedom Home Care's services within reach of families in Huntley, Algonquin, and surrounding suburbs. Services available at the office include personal home care, outpatient services, and specialized support programs such as transportation and post-surgery assistance.

For Operations Manager Sarah Moore, the ribbon-cutting was the start of something bigger. Moore said she sees a broader role for the Huntley office within the community, built on education, connection, and partnership with the professionals and families who serve older adults in the area.

"We want the Huntley office to be more than a place people call when they need home care," Moore said. "We want to be a resource for the community. A place that brings older adults, caregivers, families, and professionals together through education, support, and meaningful connections."

The office is already building on that vision with new community programming. Living With Freedom, a series for older adults and caregivers that combines education, connection, and activities, opens Friday, August 28, with an Aromatherapy and Healthy Aging session from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The session includes an interactive aromatherapy experience and the chance for participants to make a custom scented lotion to take home.

Starting in September, the office will also launch Meaningful Mondays, a recurring series bringing local professionals together for networking and education on issues affecting older adults and the people who care for them.

Representatives from the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce, the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce, and the Village of Huntley joined healthcare and senior-service professionals, community partners, and Freedom Home Care team members at the ribbon-cutting.

Local businesses Blessed Little Kitchen, Brunch Cafe-Huntley, and Elle's Deli and Bagels also supported the celebration.

GeeLark Expands Its AIGC Suite and Opens AI Content Creation to Free Users

GeeLark

SINGAPORE, Aug. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- GeeLark today announced a major expansion of its AIGC capabilities, introducing new AI models and editing tools for social media content creation. Previously available only to paid users, GeeLark AIGC can now also be used on the free plan.

The update gives more social media managers access to AI content creation within the same platform they use for cloud phones, account management, and automation. It reflects GeeLark's broader strategy to bring content production and social media operations into one connected workspace.

GeeLark announces the expansion of its AIGC capabilities with new models like Seedance 2.5 now available on all plans including free users

More Models for Different Creative Needs

GeeLark now supports a broad selection of video generation models, including Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Fast, Seedance 1.5 Pro, Seedance 1.0 Pro Fast, Kling 3.0, Kling 2.5, Veo 3.1, and Hailuo 2.3.

For image generation, users can choose from GPT Image 2, Kling 3.0, Nano Banana Pro, Seedream 5.0 Lite, and Seedream 4.0.

Instead of relying on a single model, SMM teams can choose different options based on creative style, output quality, generation speed, and campaign requirements. This provides greater flexibility when creating content for multiple accounts, platforms, and markets.

GeeLark also offers AI editing tools for slicing content, removing watermarks, and generating smart captions. These capabilities help teams prepare content for social media without moving every step between separate tools.

Bringing AIGC to Free Users

In previous versions, GeeLark's AIGC capabilities were limited to paid users. With the Aug. 27 update, free users can also access AIGC and explore its supported generation and editing tools.

Opening AIGC to the free plan lowers the barrier for individual creators and smaller teams that want to test AI-assisted content workflows before scaling their operations.

This expansion also reflects how GeeLark views AI: not as a premium add-on isolated from the rest of the platform, but as an increasingly important part of everyday social media work.

Built Around the Daily Work of SMM Teams

Through conversations with social media professionals at industry events and online, GeeLark found that many potential users were surprised to learn that AIGC was already built into the platform. Their reaction highlighted a common problem in today's social media technology stack.

SMM teams often use one group of tools to generate content, another to edit it, and separate platforms to manage accounts and execute campaigns. Each additional tool creates more subscriptions, file transfers, logins, and handoffs.

"Social media managers do not need AI as an isolated novelty. They need it to fit naturally into the work they already do," said Dominic, CEO of GeeLark. "By opening AIGC to free users and expanding our model selection, we are making AI content creation more accessible and more closely connected to real social media workflows."

From Content Generation to AI-Powered Operations

Generative AI has made content creation faster, but producing an image or video is only one part of a campaign. Teams still need to prepare content, manage accounts, work across platforms, and carry out repetitive operational tasks.

GeeLark is working to connect these stages more closely. AIGC supports the creative side of the workflow, while cloud phones and automation support the operational side of mobile-first social media management.

This positions GeeLark beyond a standalone AI generator. The company is building an integrated platform where teams can create content, prepare assets, manage operating environments, and scale social media workflows from one place.

As AI becomes more deeply embedded in marketing, its greatest value will not come from generation alone. It will come from connecting creative intelligence with the infrastructure needed to turn content into action.
